Solar Reflective Paint is a thin bituminous based aluminium protective paint of brushable consistency which dries to a silvery finish. The product is specifically designed for application over primed metal walls and roofs to reduce heat absorption.Tools and equipment can be cleaned with white spirit.Benefits Fast drying - 1 hour at normal temperatures. Prolongs life of roof repairs and bituminous coatings, which would otherwise be degraded by UV light.Areas of useAs a light/heat reflective coating over: Primed metals. Bituminous coatings (to prolong their life).Limitations Do not use in areas where subsequent solvent contact is likely. Avoid inhalation of vapours in confined spaces. Allow sufficient drying time between coats. Do not apply directly to expanded polystyrene.Surface preparationAll surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease and loose material.Application Black jack solar reflective paint must be stirred prior to use and periodically during application.Apply two coats by brush or mohair roller, the second coat being applied as soon as the first coat is dry (1-2 hours).Over recently applied bituminous coatings, allow the following minimum period to elapse after the final coat has dried before applying this product:Hot applied products: 6 hours.Solvent based coatings: 3 days.Water based coatings: 2 weeks.Over bituminous surfaces, apply the thinnest first coat necessary to obliterate the black colour of the bitumen. The second coat should also be thin. Avoid ponding. When brushing, use soft bristle brushes applying the lightest pressure.Cleaning toolsTools may be cleaned by using white spirit. Spillages should be wiped off surfaces before the bitumen paint has set.
