The No.5 ‘Jack’ is designed to plane rough sawn timber and begin sizing and smoothing, At 355mm long the No. 5 is long enough to produce a flat surface and at the same time not too heavy for prolonged use. A No.5 is very versatile, and can be used for stock removal, truing up long edges or levelling wide boards. The Faithfull No. 5 has a grey cast iron body for strength and stability. The base and sides are ground flat and square. The lever cap has a brass locking screw, enabling easy release for sharpening the blade. The plane features both depth and lateral blade adjustment. A wooden handle and tote complete the No. 5. Supplied in a hinged wooden storage case. Note: Faithfull planes represent excellent value for money.
