Overview

Passiflora Beervelde, commonly known as Passion Flower, is a unique looking plant with dark green leaves that surround a display of colourful flowers. The largely purple flowering comes in Summer, usually between July and September. The yellow-green, propeller-shaped centre is very distinct and easily compliments the array of colours around it. This semi-evergreen plant can also produce orange-yellow fruit between September and October, giving it further interest late in the year. Its fruits are edible when ripe, but not particularly palatable. Also known as Lavender Lady, this climber is an ideal choice for covering up any plain or unsightly walls in and around your garden. It can also be used as a great form of groundcover, as well as creating a fantastic display in borders, pots and containers. Place it in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, in a moist, well-drained soil. You will only need to water it when the soil is dry to touch. Please Note: When purchasing plants please consider that each live item is unique and may, therefore, differ from the images shown, which are for illustration purposes only. This plant will be supplied in a growers pot. Characteristics: Semi-evergreen plant that bears purple flowers in Summer. Orange-yellow fruits can grow in Autumn. This fast growing variety attracts bees and is a great climber for fences, walls and trellises. Growth and Spread: Ultimate height of 12m and spread of 4m. Care and Maintenance: Passion Flowers thrive in full sun or dappled shade. They prefer moist, well-drained soil that is Chalk, Clay, Loam or Sand based. Prune in early Spring to maintain size and shape. Period of Interest: Flowers will bloom from July - September. Fruits can grow throughout September & October.
