Gas Springs are pivotal components in vehicles, employing a steel cylinder filled with high-pressure nitrogen gas, a small amount of oil, a piston, piston rod, seals, and end fittings. These springs facilitate the controlled opening and closing of a vehicle's boot or bonnet, supporting their weight when open. The piston's design ensures that gas pressure forces it and the rod to full extension. Gas spring specifications are tailored to each application's weight requirements, adjusting piston areas and gas pressure accordingly. Manufacturing gas springs involves high-quality materials, with tubes made from pressure vessel steel, finely ground and polished steel bars for piston rods, and special, wear-resistant materials for rod guides and gaskets. The cylinders are painted with corrosion-inhibiting paint, and each gas spring undergoes rigorous load, deflection, and speed testing to ensure quality.
