Working with their top trad climbing athletes, Black Diamond built the Camalot Z4; a single-stem cam that stays rigid in-hand but flexes once placed. Its patent-pending design incorporates independently floating trigger wires: it wont bend while under tension and retracted, but once placed, the stem can move so the cam stays put and doesnt walk when pulled. Made from softer aluminium, the four cam lobes achieve a better bite and feature sandblasted surfaces for increased holding power. Paired with a colour-coded Dyneema sling for easy ID, the Camalot Z4 will be a new favourite on your rack.
