Overview
The Vantage 75 C W doesnt lose out by being one of the softer more forgiving models in Atomics Vantage range. They still use the energy Backbone for improved drive and power, Carbon Tank Mesh for increased edge hold and Prolite design which focuses on keeping the skis as lightweight as possible without compromising performance. Theyre easy to use and inspire confidence in all conditions, perfect for aspiring all mountain skiers.Terrain Type & Ability LevelTerrain Type It is primarily piste, but the construction and the shape do mean that the ski is forgiving and smooth enough to tackle some more varied terrain off the sides of the piste. Blues and reds are its natural home, but it can still venture on to black runs, it just wont be gripping carved turns down these steeper or harder slopes.Skier TypeNovice and intermediate skiers who want a piste ski that is about stability as much as it is performance or response. The Light Woodcore and the lack of metal in the construction ensure it is not demanding to ski, meaning it doesnt punish balance errors and is easy to get in and out of the turn. The Carbon Tank Mesh makes sure it isnt flappy either. Its a great first ski to really hone technique and feel totally comfortable on as you explore more of the mountain.OverviewShape75mm in the waist is really in the piste dimensions category but, thanks to the Prolite construction and profile borrowed from the wider skis in the Vantage range, it is happy in softer snow too. The contact points are only set back a little in the tip and tail. This helps with forgiveness when the snow is softer or trickier without affecting the hard snow performance.RockerAll Mountain Rocker uses 10/90 split of tip rocker to camber. The relatively small amount of rocker helps with turn initiation and control in unpisted and soft conditions, without affecting the camber which provides the grip and response on firmer snow.CoreAtomics Light Woodcore uses poplar to optimise the skis weight without sacrificing any shock absorption or stability.ConstructionCap Sidewall uses a full sidewall underfoot for controlled power transmission and great edge grip. The tips and tails use a cap construction to increase durability and make turn initiation and release simpler.Key FeaturesProliteProlite is all about keeping the weight down without affecting the performance, achieved by using exactly the right amount of material in the right places and removing it where it isnt needed. This creates interesting profiles such as the milled-out areas through the centre of the ski that save weight but use tougher materials so strength isnt compromised and the built-up areas along the edges that transmit power so effectively.Carbon Tank MeshA layer of super rigid, woven mesh increases strength across the ski without adding weight or too much torsional rigidity.energy BackboneAn ultra-light insert that runs the length of the ski like a backbone, this provides exceptional agility without extra weight.eB testers comments: Cat (Castleford) Conditions were on the icy side and I was surprised how well the edge gripped considering theyre such a forgiving ski to use. Theyre the ideal confidence builder for all mountain skiers.Technical SpecificationsSize (cm)Tip Width (mm)Waist Width (mm)Tail Width (mm)Radius (m)Weight (g)154114.575991423401611177510015.12710General InformationSkier Ability: Novice/Intermediate/AdvancedTerrain Type: All Mountain Rocker: Tip RockerRadius: ShortBase: SinteredBindings: Integrated, M 10 GWDIN: 3 - 10Construction: Semi SidewallCore: CompositeDemo: YesSizing Description: Nose level to forehead height is ideal, but longer length is important if there is a bigger rocker or youre spending more time off piste where the extra stability and float a larger size provides will be beneficial.
