With its long nose and short tail, it would be easy to mistake this as a powder board. Although this unique shape does work great in the pow, the reality is that its there to fool you. What this board is, is more of a freestyle all terrain board. Take a closer look at that nose and tail shape, and youll spot just how low the profile is. This reduces the swing weight at the tips giving the rider more control and improved balance.ProfileAs the Kilroy Directional is all about performance across all different types of terrain, anything other than a traditional camber would be pointless. An advocate of powerful turns and poppy precision, camber speaks to the core values of board design. Delivering a snappy overall feel, camber distributes weight evenly over the entire length of the board for smooth, continuous edge control from tip to tail.ConstructionTo ensure the Kilroy Directional delivers its unique easy going and playful freestyle ride, the Kilroy crew specced the build to reflect that. Heading this up is the advanced FSC Certified SuperFly® 800G Core with Dualzone eGD. This state of the art wood core uses utilises dual-density vertical laminations of alternating softwood/hardwood to reduce overall weight with no sacrifice in strength or performance. Now to dial in the perfect freestyle flex, the core is re-profiled with Squeezebox Low. This creates Stiffer zones just outside the feet, creating a more direct energy transfer to the tip and tail while enabling a softer, smoother flex between the bindings. The result is more control with less effort from the rider. Now to give the Kilroy Directional a more stable and confidence inspiring ride, Burton create its structural layers from tri-ax weave glass.
