Proof that you dont need to break the bank to get high performance.Combining the balance and feel of a true twin with the control and response of an all mountain charger, the Typo is the very definition of an all-terrain snowboard. Built around Yess advanced Volume Directional Twin shape, this versatile board is equally happy in every type of terrain. As the board of choice for Yes legends Benji Ritchie and Mark Tremblay its pretty clear that no matter what or where you ride, the Typo can take it all in its stride. So, whether youre a relative newcomer to the sport or a more seasoned rider, the Typos ability to tackle every type of terrain, from the park through to the backcountry with everything in between, make it the perfect board for anyone that doesnt want to be held back.Rider StyleIntermediate through to expert riders who are looking for a versatile all-terrain board that can take on the whole mountain. Utilising a responsive but relatively mellow mid flex, the Typo ensures that it doesnt sacrifice any of its relatively easy going nature for its class-leading performance.Shape OverviewAs the lines between freeride and freestyle continue to erase, Yes had to address the needs of those committed to riding twins but finding themselves in more pow. Nose and tail volume is hard to notice on hardpack unless youre nose/tail pressing, but in pow, it affects floatation, and you can feel it. This led them to the simple idea of the Directional Volume Twin. Symmetrical flex, centred stance, identical wide points of the board (therefore, NOT tapered), and identical shovel lengths but with a slightly lower volume tail. Also, to take full advantage of the Typos performance shape, Yes utilise their advanced UnderBite edge profile. UnderBite edges re-distribute a riders weight in such a way that it enhances ease of turning and edge hold. Creating divots inward at the binding area reduces and disrupts the surface area of the edge that has contact with the snow while the board is turning. This increases the edge pressure by distributing your weight/energy into the areas where its needed - from the binding out and through the centre of the board where the carving arc is taking place. This segmentation of the sidecut into three principal zones focuses your body weight into areas that initiate, hold and release turns.ProfileThe Typo utilises Yess all-terrain focussed 2-4-2 CamRock profile. This combines low profile rocker zones at the tip and tail with a more pronounced camber through the middle of the board. This combination creates hook free zones at the tip and tail but also allows the contact points to engage faster than the more freestyle orientated profiles. This gives the board a more dynamic feel and really lets the more pronounced camber between the feet work in perfect harmony with the UnderBite edges to really deliver the performance feel that the Typo is so well known for.ConstructionThe Typo is the perfect example of that old saying, sometimes less is more. Reading through the spec list, what you get is a traditional snowboard construction without any of the headline-grabbing super tech many brands flag up. However, thats no bad thing, because what YeS do is use a high-quality poplar wood core wrapped with high-quality bi-ax glass fibre. These two materials are the building blocks for a great snowboard; everything else at this price point is just fluff. So, what you get is a board that gives the perfect balance of pop, control and playfulness. everything that you could ever ask for with this kind of board. What type of base does it have? This is the term Yes use and is the grey zone that many companies play in. Its Sintered Spec because its hardness and chemical properties are very close to true sintered bases, and its on-snow performance is also very close to true sintered - but its formed using the extrusion process. How? Well, the raw material is actually pre-consumer recycled (meaning it never left the factory) sintered base material. So while the heating and extrusion process has softened it slightly, its still much harder than true extruded.Additional informationLengthWaist WidthSidecutTapereffective edgeTip WidthTail WidthMin StanceMax StanceSetbackWeight Range15224.8cm7.9/7.2/7.9m0cm115cm29.37cm29.37cm53.2cm61.2cm0.5cm120-160lbs / 54-72kg15525cm7.9/7.2/7.9m0cm117cm29.54cm29.54cm54.4cm62.4cm0.5cm130-170lbs / 59-77kg156w25.9cm8.2/ 7.5/8.2m0cm118cm30.29cm30.29cm54.4cm62.4cm0.5cm140-180lbs / 63-82kg15825.3cm8.3/7.6/8.3m0cm120cm29.81cm29.81cm55.7cm63.7cm0.5cm150-200lbs / 68-92kg159w26.1 cm8.3/7.6/8.3m0cm120cm30.61cm30.61cm55.7cm63.7cm0.5cm160-210lbs / 72-95kg16125.4cm8.5/7.6/8.5m0cm121cm29.91cm29.91cm57cm65cm0.5cm180-220+lbs / 82-99+kg16326.3cm8.6/7.9/8.6m0cm121cm30.77cm30.77cm57cm65cm0.5cm180-220+lbs / 82-99+kg
