Overview

Proof that you don’t need to break the bank to get great performance.Over the past few seasons, the Libre has firmly established itself as one of the best performing first price point boards on the market. Sharing its construction with the award-winning Basic (albeit a tad stiffer) this versatile Directional Twin delivers class-leading performance wherever and whatever you ride. Combining a traditional edge profile with Yes’s acclaimed CamRock profile, the Libre is equally at home playing around in the park as it is blasting groomers. However, on those days where you want to take it easy and cruise around the mountain, this is one board that has you covered. So, if you’re looking for a board that will take you through those early stages of your riding, but which will still be there with you as you improve to a really high level, then the Libre is the board for you.Rider StyleBeginners through to expert riders who are looking for a great value versatile all terrain board that delivers an easy-going ride without compromising out and out performance across the whole mountain.Shape OverviewAs the lines between freeride and freestyle continue to blur, finding a shape that handles both with ease is the goal of the whole industry. Leading that charge is Yes’s Directional Volume Twin shape. This innovative design adds a few mm to the board's contact points at the nose. This lets the designer retain the same nose and tail width to give the board a balanced feel, but also lets them reroute the flow of snow past the nose to give excellent lift without compromising the board's balance. In other words, the perfect combination of freestyle feel and all-mountain performance.ProfileThe Libre’s CamRock profile combines rocker zones at the tip and tail with a mellow camber through the middle of the board. This innovative profile creates hook-free zones at the contact points, ensuring that when you hit the park, you’ll get that more reassuring feel when riding rails or pressing boxes. That rockered uplift at the front is also going to add extra float in the pow, so even though the Libre is only slightly directional, it’s going to perform great everywhere. That versatility is carried over into the responsive camber. This extends from just before the insert packs and gives the board that more robust and reassuring underfoot feel that you only get from cambered boards.ConstructionThe Libre is the perfect example of that old saying, ‘sometimes less is more’. Reading through the spec list, what you get is a traditional snowboard construction without any of the headline-grabbing super tech many brands flag up. However, that’s no bad thing, because what YeS do is use a high-quality poplar wood core wrapped with high-quality bi-ax glass fibre. These two materials are the building blocks for a great snowboard; everything else at this price point is just fluff. So, what you get is a board that gives the perfect balance of pop, control and playfulness. everything that you could ever ask for with this kind of board.BaseThe low maintenance easy repair extruded base delivers excellent performance in all conditions, all without the need to be continuously waxing it.Additional informationLengthWaist WidthSidecutTapereffective edgeTip WidthTail WidthMin StanceMax StanceSetbackWeight Range15224.8cm7.2m0cm115cm29.17cm29.17cm49.3cm57.3cm0cm120-160lbs / 54-72kg15424.9cm7.3m0cm117cm29.36cm29.36cm51.9cm59.9cm0cm130-170lbs / 59-77kg15625cm7.4m0cm118cm29.48cm29.48cm51.9cm59.9cm0cm140-180lbs / 63-82kg156w25.6cm7.4m0cm118cm30.08cm30.08cm54.4cm62.4cm0cm140-180lbs / 63-82kg15825.2cm7.6m0cm120cm29.72cm29.72cm54.4cm62.4cm0cm150-200lbs / 68-92kg159w25.8cm7.6m0cm120cm30.32cm30.32cm55.7cm63.7cm0cm160-210lbs / 72-95kg161w26cm7.8m0cm121cm30.52cm30.52cm55.7cm63.7cm0cm180-220+lbs / 82-99+kg
